Good, they wasted alot of peoples time, i expected an hour long stream. If the next one isn't amazing then I'll never watch live again. Hopefully Sony sees the negative reaction and sorts it out. |
The format was done very well like that of Nintendo Direct, but they just forgot to include any games people actually wanna play lol.

Why is that unrealistic? |

Why shouldn't we? If they want to skip e3, it is ok to expect something in the first half of the year |
They are skipping E3 but that doesn't mean this was the only thing they will do for the 1st half of the year. I'm sure, as it was stated, that they will at least have another State of Play before or at the time of E3, and/or something else too to compensate for not being on stage.

They are trying to mimic Nintendo Directs, so yeah, Im going to compare their "State of Play" to those. Wether it was wise to have expected something out of this is another discussion entirely. |
It's fair to compare them to Directs since they are indeed very similar, but this was their first one. I remember the first Direct not being so hot either.
Let's be optimistic, but not so much that we set the bar super high up and end up being disappointed by our own expectations.
Superb for psvr. No man's sky psvr is a megaton. Iron man too. The platform will be supported for another year. Sony know if they abandon it nobody would buy it on the PS5.

*Sony shows lots of new VR stuff*
VR sCePtIcS "hah, another sign that VR is dead"

If you review a game or a movie, you will inevitably compare it to other mvoies that are airing at the time, or that came out recently, wether they had a big budget or not. When you are reviewing something you ignore wether they are newbies or if they are doing it for the first time, because at the end of the day, its a product that they want to sell.
Same for this Direct wannabe.Sony wants you to tune in, like people tune in to directs. So yeah, Ill judge them by those standards. And even if Nintendo first direct wasnt all that hot(Dont remember if it was or wasnt), it was judged back in its day if it was worth the time or not.People didnt really care that Nintendo was still trying to get the hang of it.It had the benefit of not having competition, but thats on Nintendo favor for being the first.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Expecting companies to actually show their games, how unrealistic.
Maybe Sony needs to set the correct expectations for these direct. Even MS lets you know theirs will be indie games so people do not expect some megaton stuff.
