BS. They had what it takes to carry a home and handheld console at the same time and they had the ips. They just gave up on it before anything. Nintendo had to slash the price of the 3ds to get it started. Sony just wasn't willing to make the sacrifices and take the risk. They were too afraid after PS3.

Before price cut, 3ds still sold better than vita. And Pokemon/Animal Crossing/Yokai Watch/Mario Kart/Fire Emblem, Sony IPs are nowhere close to these IP sales in Japan

How did psp manage to sell so much there and worldwide then?

Probably monster hunter and that's a capcom IP. Worldwide probably piracy helped it.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I am still going to post the numbers if available.
Mainly Famitsu and dengeki

Ah, you mean psp sales? Why not psp games sales too? You know what? PSP sold 80 million and the best selling game on psp is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd in Japan. That game sold 4,9 million. For a user base that have 80 million owners, the best selling game is 4,9 mil and only one game can do that number. That is very pathetic, i'd dare to say that.

Why don't you dare to answer the question instead of going on irrelevant rants?

Rants? Why do i have to? As if majority of people buy psp to play games and some Sony IPs, nope, not even close. If anything, the only people who could be mad by this fact is psp fans

Simple, PSP had much better support and much more games than Vita ever had, also handhelds generally were more popular before smartphone/tablet gaming.

I was arguing with with a guy who said Sony didn't have the ips to support a handheld. So I don't know what your point was in replying that to me since my entire argument was based on what you just said. TemeReme 3rd part Japanese supported the vita a lot as well so where was the support lacking? Sony of course

I'm not quite sure why. Maybe the marektimawas not on point? Maybe the PSP was pirated to hell? Maybe it had many games and the total software sales are better than individual sales. I'll have to do a deep dive sometime to figure it out. I don't have the time for that now though
