There is a thread which is currently running about the Wii's graphics. Now I would like to say, for the wii GRAPHICS dont matter. It was never intended as a graphics powerhouse. But some people are so blinded that they think the gap between Wii and HD consoles is the same as Wii over PS2/GC. Well what I have decided to do is compare some first party Nintendo games on Gamecube and Wii. Then First generation PS3 and 360 games against Wii first gen you decide.

Now Mario Sunshine came out about the same time in GC's life as Galaxy has for Wii. So here some screens of both.  Is it really that much better?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking out of everyone. The only question you seem to ask is whether Galaxy looks much better than Sunshine, which i'll respond yes it does based on those screenshots. Is there a greater question you'd like to ask based on all of those other pictures you posted?

Galaxy looks better than Sunshine. 1st gen 360/PS3 look worse than newly released titles. Sadly, screenshots don't give any impression of particle effects, frame rate, animation, etc. It's possible to find a Gamecube screenshot that looks as good as a PS3 game. Doesn't make it so.

First off, for the GC/Wii comparisons, I'm sorry to tell you but they're more than likely worthless. They're different dimensions and resolutions so there's no point comparing images.

Second, what's the point here, show the 360 and PS3 have better graphics? Thanks for letting me know.

Huge graphics difference between Galaxy and Sunshine, but since Nintendo is now more experienced with graphics par Wii level. I still like the PS3 and 360 Graphics more, but I hate people complaining about the Wii graphics. One of my friends does that and he owns a Wii. He didn't know the graphics were "not like PS360", I was like DUH, do you use the internet?

Yeah. After rereading the original post, I'm a little confused. Are you saying that the Wii looks last gen, or are you saying that the Wii is near PS3/360 levels? I want to argue, but I don't know what we're arguing about. You make me miss my fiance.

I think he's trying to say the difference between GC and Wii is a lot smaller than the difference between the Wii and HD consoles. It's true the difference between Wii and HD is bigger, but saying there's not much difference between Sunshine and Galaxy just isn't true.

I'd also like to ask why, out of all the games that could've been used, would you choose Far Cry Vengeance to showcase the Wii's graphics? That game got panned for how terrible they were.

Galaxy does look better to me
