Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Octopath Traveler - 2018 April Update

Man, this game has the potential to be something really great if they do some really clever things with each character's unique skill. Either way, I'm still quite psyched for this one.

Comes out July 13th, and I’m pretty sure it’s $60

OT: Game looks incredible, easily my most hyped game at the moment

...source?  but man thats a bummer for me if true  I was hoping 39.99

Why? This looks like it will do more than enough to justify a $60 price tag. Just because it's not a big AAA western release doesn't mean it's a $30 or $40 budget title

I definitely wasn't even considering the possibility that it could be $60 or even close to that. I guess just the retro look to it makes me think indie game which makes me think cheap price. I totally just had it in my mind this would be like $30. So just like psychologically it feels weird to pay close to a full price for a retro styled game (which is funny cuz graphics don't matter much and furthermore I looooove the look of it). I'll probably wait for a big sale on it or just until it drops in price. The game looks awesome but I'm just not gonna pay $60 or close to that for it. Though I don't have much time to play long games anyways. I still need to play through Zelda at some point this year, so getting another long game it would just sit around until I play through Zelda. Definitely will get it at some point though when its cheaper.

It's looking pretty interesting how the world reacts to your decisions. There seems to be an western RPG influence on this game. Hopefully it can combine the best of both worlds.

I dont care if its  AAA western release or not I usually wait for those to be 20 before I buy them also your talking to someone who refuses to pay 59.99 for the tales games on ps4.  if I wouldn't pay 59.99 for those no way would I do that for octopath despite my interests in it

I've said it many times before, but this game is the reason I bought a Switch, and everytime I see or hear something new about it I get even more excited!

You can say that again.

Yeah I don't need to see more of this game. I will definitely get it!!

If this game is being published by Nintendo in the West (Don't remember if it is or not), you're probably gonna have to be on the lookout for retailer sales. Bravely Default for instance is still $40.
