I don't like this guys video so much. but he nails it so well here. I kind of stopped playing ubisoft games way back when I saw the same formula across their games. its almost like every game is just different in skin but the base ideas are the same.

Around the Network

Maybe in around 2014 this would hold some weight, but not now. Watchdogs 2, Assassins creed Origins, and far cry 5 are vastly different.

Assassins creed Origins is the same as South Park which is the same marioXrabbids, which is the same as for honour which is the same thing as Rayman, which is the same thing as trackmania, which is the same thing as far cry?

The claim that all their games are cookie cutter open worlds is pure bullshit.

Even their newer open world are vastly different from each other. ACO and Watchdogs 2 are absolutely nothing alike.

And also, does this guy ever make a positive video about anything? It looks like he likes to bitch at everything for the sake of that.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Who cares what that guy in the SS uniform is saying? He gave Zelda a 7. Do we have to talk about his credibility?

I rather like him overall and am a subscriber, but it often feels his videos are usually about twice as long as they need to be.

I can see what he means by AC/Far Cry/Watch_Dogs and so forth in that they feel and behave rather similarly, but the experiences are different enough in my opinion. I enjoy Assassin's Creed and Far Cry for very different reasons and don't care for Watch_Dogs at all, so while it's obvious they're generally using the same engine and stuff I don't think he's being entirely fair.

Also, one of my favorite surprise games of last year was Mario Rabbids. They do shake things up occasionally.

idk. I agree with the "cookie cutter" assessment.

He's made positive videos on the Yakuza series, including one from just a few weeks ago. Honestly, the video in the op isn't that negative. He mostly likes Far cry 5. I can't comment too much on it's accuracy, as I haven't played an Ubi game in forever.

there is a difference between one series being too samey. in that case. it can be ok. I mean a lot of the games I like are series of samey games. they just usually have a great story to back that up

but its an another thing for the base design to carry across multiple game series from the same publisher.

That's actually why I like Ubisoft games so much, they all feel familiar yet different, and I enjoy the formula.

you cant contradict yourself like that tho.

It sounds like he is describing himself and the videos he makes.
Hmm.

Really, why do people take him seriously?
