Half way through the next US chart. Should hopefully get it out today. UK tomo. Germany the day after. France, Europe, Japan, and WW I'll try to get done all in one day, though can't guarantee it.

All depends on encountering no more bugs with the code or whatever it was that caused the problem (I know nothing about coding myself so can't really say; I just tell Talon when I hit a roadblock and he goes and fixes it for me xD).

I know Machina absolutely has his work cut out for him - the problem was that one of the background tasks that we rely on for a good portion of chart building, was down for nearly two months, but we didn't know.

As I've mentioned in various threads, once Machina gets a good handle on all of this cleanup and gets everything to a productive place, I will be turning my attention to this process, completely . I'm going to recode much of what he's doing to:
- reduce the number of required steps, A LOT
- get him some reportable stats for the background processes so he'll know when things are done and we won't find ourselves in this position again
- hopefully get him to a place where he can REALLY churn out charts, MUCH faster!!

Just hang in there a little bit longer - we're almost there... :)

What has ioi actually done to deserve all this volunteer effort to save his neglected project? Seems like you guys put in all the effort and he just slacks off reaping the reward...

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I won't speak for anyone else, but I can tell you for me personally - it's YOU guys (the community) that I work for. I've always felt an obligation to you all, to build and maintain an enjoyable website.

Yes, I disappeared for quite some time - but that was due to significant life changes at the time, and I simply could NOT dedicate the time to this website that it needs...    ...and I'm not the type that can half-ass something and feel good about myself. So it was better for me to just step away and deal with my own stuff.

But, now I'm back. :)

That's great to hear. And also great to see that Machina is aiming to get to a 4 weeks trailing set up as we had prior to E3 2017. Looking forward to it all and appreciate all the help and work being put towards this site.

Ideally, I want to reduce the workload and get the processing clean enough to get us closer to no more than TWO WEEKS trailing - that is my ultimate goal!! And really, the reason I am aiming so high, is because I believe we need to be fairly current (or as close to current as we can get), in order to run a successful Prediction League.

BUT, I will NOT stand on Machina and demand unrealistic goals. We'll just have to play this by ear and see exactly how close we can get, without sacrificing accuracy too greatly... :)

I think that ambitious goal of two weeks and possibly even 1 week trailing can happen as long as a system is in place where there is an updated query that is running 4 weeks behind that simply updates the numbers to more accurate numbers. This delayed query can have more manual intervention to account for any sales announcements from companies and NPD numbers, etc.

Again, this would be a long term goal but what do you guys think about this dual query set up? It favours time and accuracy.
