Where did this 10-20k figure come from?

And Sony had these big games even it wasn’t enough to win. Imagine how bad it would have been if MH and dbz didnt come out. Kinda like how February doesn’t have any big releases for PS4 so this months switch win should be much bigger.

MHW is the only system seller, and it came out late in the month, plus xbox is much cheaper so anybody buying a system for that game, would buy it on xbox. way bigger games in the west that are coming out exclusive on ps4, and MHW is not really a big system seller in the west. ps4 main problem is xbox being much cheaper, while both consoles are getting near there peak. also about the 10-20k numbers

In other words difference can be even 40-50k.

Really wishful thinking post, gamestop also sells bundles for switch, 10-20k is the much more likely scenario. he's suggesting 40% of ps4 sales are now pro sales, when sony told us it was 20k

Do we even know who came in 2nd or 3rd?

You are the last one who can talk about "wishful" thinking predictions lmao.

There is nothing about wishful thinking beacuse we dont have accurate numbers, Switch also had bundles before but also regular PS4 had them, and this time we had PS4 Pro bundle that was limited and sold out, and @Ryng_Tolu bring some good points why Pro sales for January can easil be stronger than usualy.

switch has bundles now at gamestop, and they sell well, they are bundles from nintendo. suggesting 40% of ps4 sales are pro is really wishful thinking. i can see ps4 pro going 30% at most, even then if ps4 did 260k, and switch out sold by  6% which is much higher then the 3% number being used you get 15k more sold.

Retail-assembled bundles would not count towards hardware revenue beyond the actual console. Revenue for hardware is calculated at point of sale for the manufacturers. That is, sold-in, shipments. When Gamestop puts together a bundle, they are taking a hardware unit they purchased and a set of games and/or accessories and selling to you under one price. That would not factor into revenue for hardware. Unless the NPD numbers are some other form of calculation which would be rather silly.

A simple breakdown:

Switch sold most units @ 299$
PS4 had the most revenue @ 299, 399 and a 449 SKUs

3% difference in revenue between #1 and #3 We know PS4 is first, Switch could be anywhere from the slimmest of margins up to 3% away from that.

I think there's a good chance it's quite a bit more than 10-20k units (sounds like wishful thinking from some) difference between the PS4 and Switch unless the Pro and MH bundle tanked, which we know they didnt.

How that has with anything!? PS4 base also has bundles and they are also selling well, thats nothing different compared to previous months, real difrence is here PS4 Pro and PS4 Pro bundle (MHW Pro bundle had $450 price point), so probably PS4 Pro is sold better in January compared to previous months. Nobody really didn't said that 40% of PS4 sales are Pro. 3% revenue doent mean nothing if we dont know how much bundles, Pros and base console were sold, only fact is that Switch again is best selling console of month. ;)

Yeah, based on this :

If we assume PS4 pro represents 30% of PS4 total sales and that MH bundle sold as much as non bundled Pro :

Switch revenue per unit is 299$. PS4 revenue per unit is 299*0.7 + 449*0.15 + 399*0.15 = 336.5$. That would be 11% difference in revenue per unit.

That would mean the switch sold around 9-10% more units this month (25/30k units)

A lot of assumptions though, could be more could be less. The higher the ratio Pro/Slim is the higher the switch lead is (same with the ratio MH Bundle/Regular Pro).
