a retailer leaked spiderman with this date, i know this couldn't mean nothing until official statement from sony, but god of war were too leaked before by some retailers...release would be later than expected, but on the other side i could understand that they want this big ip a little bit distant from god of war...

Alright everyone, it's time to grab a few grains of salt, and then neglect them and get hyped anyway. This morning a Swedish online retailer by the name of CoolShop has listed Spider-Man PS4 with a release date of September 28, 2018. This came out of the blue, and as far as we can tell the site is perfectly legitimate. But what about the date? Does September 28 sound like a placeholder date? Not exactly.

Typically placeholder dates are either the last day of the year, or the last day of the season that a game is supposed to launch. Let's say that Game-X is supposed to launch in the spring of 2018. A placeholder date for Game-X might be June 21, since that's the last day of spring. In this case, September 28 is neither the last day of the year (obviously), nor the last day of a season. Summer will end on September 22 this year. The supposed release date also falls on a Friday, which would make perfect since. Games typically launch on Tuesdays and Fridays in the U.S.

Really? How is that even a hard decision?

I really doubt this is the release date. Seems like a placeholder since its right at the end of Q3.
Crackdown's "leaked date" was June 29, right at the end of Q2, seems like a placeholder.

However, I think does give the clue that the game is coming in Q3 rather than Q2 or Q4.

Alongside Bloodborne and The Witcher I would rate Forza Horizon 3 in the top 3 for this gen, so indeed not a hard choice for Forza Horizon 4 in this case.

Either way luckely I have enough for both games, as long as spidey comes this year I will be happy and this doesn't seem like a logical placeholder date. I would be happy with a september release, the real hurt always happens in November and nobody really knows when the big western bomb hits this year but I am quite sure its not september.

They should release it in the same month as infinity war.its spiderman so its gonna sell regardless.a lot of casual people are excited about this game which kinda surprised me.hype is there so they need to release it close to infinity war to create more hype.

Hopefully it launches earlier on right?

I am not a xbone nore are the horizon games recycle/repetitive games, maybe if you played it you would know this the Horizon racing series is a refreshing take on the pure arcade/fun racers.

Why always turn this into hate topics? Racing games are one of my most prefered genres, as you could see if you looked up my games played, wether its the driveclub or motorstorm games or the forza, project gotham series during the years I played them all, I also love mario kart but by your standards that is proberbly the most recycle/repetitive racer of all or its not but only things on the "xbone" are bad because you know of the console instead of the actual game quality.

Luckely as stated by many of the players who responded I don't have to choose between to excellent games and I will be swinging my way to victory in Spiderman and Driving in style in horizon regardless, but trying to bash either of these excellent upcoming games in any way is just... sad. If you want to share your opinion Spiderman is better try looking at how CGI-Quality did it in a fun, non aggressive way because he is also a very nice/objective person your comment just made me anoyed, however.

Doubt it, September/October was what I was expecting. GoW and Detroit are the titles for the 1st half of the year. Spiderman in September and Days Gone right at the end, October/November or delayed to early 2019. Then Dreams shoved in somewhere whenever it's done.
