The PS domination in Europe is impressive. Despite the Switch buzz, there's been a huge PS4 lead for weeks. Now there's a question : UK, FR and US ranking roughly show the same tastes in termes of software, so why is Switch slightly ahead of PS4 in the US whereas it can't even remotely compete in Europe?

Because of one factor: FIFA.

The biggest sport and pastime in Europe is football. Sony has a lot of marketing going at matches and commercials. Bring the two together and there you have it.

Personally, from the people I know who buy Playstations, I have noticed two things: Many buy one out of peer pressure (because other friends have that version for that console) and many buying just FIFA and the yearly iteration of that franchise, and nothing more.

I didn't know Fifa was exclusive on PlayStation. That's really strange for years I was sure to see Xbox's publicity with Fifa.

Yeah indeed no one wants to buy an Xbox here (I live in France so I can relate)

Bien sûr que personne ne veut d'Xbox ^^^^.

La Switch n’est pas très loin de la Xbox.

Microsoft has almost no marketing at football games in Europe. You might think that's a small thing, but in Europe, it matters.

So PlayStation sell well thanks to Fifa I guess. Fifa is a 100M+ seller game. That's something I didn't know either.

Where did I say that?

1 more week until SMO and then it starts destroying Japan. Should see some 300-400k weeks

Also i wonder how long Nintendo can claim to be the highest selling Console manufacturer. Such a turn aeound since the Wii u days.

Nintendo can start claiming that once the PS4 slows down some more.

A relatively small boost, thanks mainly to GT Sports and South Park, for PS4, combined with a small drop for NS, waiting for Mario next week, are enough to give PS4 a huge domination margin this week.
XBOne and 3DS decent, but both below 100k by a whisker.
