Took me some time to find the gamplay video in this 97min video. To anybody that just wants to see the coop skip to around 1:09.
Still no physical copy for the rest of the world huh :(

I wonder what's preventing a lot of Japanese developers from making games like this have online co-op. This would be perfect for that. I don't know many local friends who like this kind of game Also...anybody know how much this is gonna cost? 30 bucks?

SoM1?
Is there a Secret of Mana 2?
When will devs learn that SNES -> 3D remake is ALWAYS ugly. The original has so much charm because of its art direction. This looks like soulless trash

I'm used to it, blame SE for it.

LOL. That's fan made.
The game never came out officially outside of Japan. Here's how it looked like:

Yes of course I know this especially after playing the game 5 times. Hence why I said blame SE.
I played the unofficial english version of the game and its been called Secret of Mana 2 everywhere in relation to it :p
Which is understandable considering Secret of Mana was Seiken Densetsu 2 - so the fans who played the unofficial english rom, would of course unofficially name it Secret of Mana 2 considering SE didnt bother re-releasing the game in any form with its own unique name - especially with the Switch release of the Seiken Densetsu collection. |
Secret of Mana is only the subtitle. Literally, the full name is: Legend of the Sacred Sword 2: Secret of Mana. I know you know that already. Just throwing it here for those who don't.
And it's a shame they never released Seiken Densetsu 3 outside of Japan. The game is absolutely amazing.
As for this remake, I really like the look they went for, for the gameplay parts. It's only the close up parts that I'm not digging. From the gameplay top down view, the visuals manage to capture the feel and overall aesthetic of the original. But close up during cut-scenes, it looks like a game from two generations ago. :/

Well its not a full fledged remake like how SE showcased FFVII Remake.
It looks like a combination of low budget and how they want it to be more like the original than a different game (like FFVII's example).
I'm fine with that though....cant see myself buying it day 1 as tempting as it may be considering its close to my birthday when it will be out :P. |
Oh, I'm getting this day one. This is one of my favorite SNES games. And I want to play it coop with my son. :D
What's gonna be the price tag?

SD1 was a Gameboy Final Fantasy spinoff if memory serves me correct. SD2 is Secret of Mana which has a pretty big hit for a JRPG in the west. SD3 is Secret of Mana 2, it never released outside of Japanese however someone took the time to translate it and there is a ROM version of the game translated.
I played SD3 back in like 02 or 03(with emulator) and it is a top 5 RPG all time for me. It is mind-blowingly good. Probably the greatest game ever to not release outside of Japan (I give it a slight edge over Enix's Terranigma)
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
