Should I buy tickets to see Star Wars The Last Jedi in IMAX or XD?

IMAX 7 77.78%

XD 0 0%

Any regular movie theater should do 2 22.22%

Total:9

So, hey, first of all, that's my first thread in here. I've been in this site for over 6 years now, but didn't start actually posting in it until some weeks ago.

Well, today started here in Brazil the pre-sales of tickets to see Star Wars The Last Jedi in almost all movie theaters. Except in the IMAX cinema of my city. I don't usually see movies in IMAX and never ever saw any movie in Cinemark XD, but since this is a special movie, I'm willing to pay some more for a good experience (Force Awakens was my last movie in IMAX).

Considering that XD pre-sales are already available and IMAX not, and I need to guarantee those tickets (for me and my wife) as soon as possible, should I buy the XD tickets already or wait for the IMAX pre-sales to open?

I probably won't have much of a choice again. IMAX it is.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

What we got is Ultra AVX with Full Reclining Seats or Ultra AVX with Dbox + Full Reclining Seats or IMAX.

Out of those choices, for very high profile movies, Ultra AVX with Dbox is the way to go. Essentially, DBox = Chairs that vibrate as the movies goes along so you can "feel" the action with your seat like when the character is getting shot, you can feel the bullet.

So while IMAX has higher picture quality, I prefer DBOX over that

Netflix... I lost faith in there ever being a good SW movie again :p

I actually decided to buy the XD tickets with DBox. To be honest, it will be my first experience with DBox. Hope it's worth it.
