Xbox builds pop-up hotel for gamers, rooms got booked out just hours after announcement!

XBOX is on the brink of launching what it describes as the most powerful gaming console ever built and to say gamers are excited would be an understatement.

The Xbox One X — formerly Project Scorpio — has put all of the cutting-edge hardware required for 4K gaming into a compact package for gamers. For those more tech savvy, the console is running an eight-core processor with a 2.3Ghz clock speed, a proprietary graphics processor with a 6 Teraflop processing capability, and has 12Gb of DDR5 RAM in it. In response to hype for the console, Xbox Australia announced a pop-up hotel in Sydney where fans could spend a night with the new machine before it’s released on November 7. Located in Sydney’s Pirrama Park, the “Xbox Stay n’ Play” has four suites themed around Forza Motorsport 7, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Minecraft.

Each private themed suite includes a super high resolution 4K HDR televisions for super sharp and smooth gameplay, Dolby Atmos enabled headsets for cinema quality audio and a full selection of Xbox One X enhanced games.Running from November 3 until November 5, the pop-up hotel offered overnight accommodation for four lucky guests and a friend, with an Xbox Onesies also provided.

There was also two-hour playtime sessions for two people at a time throughout the day. The free event took reservations on a first come, first serve basis, with all sessions filled just hours after they became available to the public. Such a quick response to the event showcases the excitement people have for the upcoming console and if you are sad to have missed out, don’t worry too much because there will be additional consoles in a lobby area for walk-ins.

No Shadow of War? Odd. They seem to be banking on that game quite a bit too.

It says "a full selection of enhanced games." It's quite possibly there aswell as quite a few more. Just not stated in the article for whatever reason.

I was just too slow for this!

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

What the heck is a pop-up hotel, is that like a flash mob. I'm old.

Sort of. They're basically corporate-owned events that "pop up" temporarliy in the hopes of selling stuff... or in this case... promoting stuff. Bands have been doing it for awhile now.

Pretty much just add a logistical nightmare. It would have to have around the clock security too.

I wonder if these are the Onesies....

Wtf is that? I loved it!

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

There the Xbox Onesies. Provided to the patrons. Finally, the argument about the naming of the xbox one can be put to rest. Microsoft were playing the long game.
