Hey All,

I have a launch model PS4 and I feel it's only a matter of time before it kicks the bucket. It has been randomly spitting out discs and it sounds like a damn banshee when I play Horizon or Destiny 2. I would prefer not to fork over a few hundred for new system so I thought of going digital with my games, would that reduce the wear and tear on my system?

Is sun glaring on PS4, a while back that was a thing sun was triggering eject.

Nah, it's kept in the shadows.

Around the Network

I had a Destiny launch white PS4.

My thing started to die on me by the middle of 2016. It was I believe the Power Supply which if the PS4 was off or even in sleep mode would not turn on randomly. Blue light would light up for a millisecond then a complete shut down.

Called Sony and they wanted around $100 for a fix since it was out of warranty range. I ended up dealing with it, then selling the old PS4 for parts and getting the Destiny 2 PS4 Pro lol.

I would suggest going the digital only route if thats alright with you or contact Sony and if you can deal without it for a week or two just pay them to get it fixed. They still fix out of warranty PS4's but it just has a cost to it rather than being free (as long as you didn't fiddle with anything under the void sticker).

Tbh my pro has behaved weirdly aswell of late. It has randomly crashed and rebuilt the database and it has become noisier.
I do think it will go bust soon enough. I just hope it is within the first 2 years.

Dont worry, i also have a launch PS4 and it had all those problems (the disc problem i solved it by rebooting the system, i looked up a tutorial on youtube in order to fix that one, its been working fine for over a year or two after that), and the loud noises only happened with Horizon every other game doesnt have that "problem", seems like the game is too taxing on the launch unit (don't know if the other PS4s have that same loud noise with this game).

Cant talk about Destiny 2 since i don't have it.

My PS3 has had that same problem with the database (it happened at least twice) years ago and it still works today (i have it since 2009), hopefully your PS4 doesnt bust.
