Forums - Gaming Discussion - HAL Laboratory starting to develop mobile games, first title out this fall

Kirby developer HAL Laboratory announced today that the company has started to develop games for mobile. Tying in with the news, a new “HAL Egg” brand has been created. This label is dedicated specifically for smartphone content and will differ from its past works.

The first mobile game app will be launching this fall featuring a new character.

The Kirby franchise is co-owned by HAL and Nintendo.

Expecting something like boxboy, HAL made some boxboy stages to play in Uniqlo mobile app for some events a few weeks ago.

Would this count as a Nintendo mobile game? Probably not, but most people count PoGo as a Nintendo app...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

But it is a Nintendo app, even if not developed by an internal team.

But Nintendo has nothing to do with it though, right?

It's Niantic and Pokemon company

People are well aware of Pokemon's history with Nintendo though, how many people heard of Niantic before Pokemon Go? I know I haven't.

As I said previously Kirby has the potential to be the most valuable Nintendo IP on Mobile, all they need to do is collaborate with King and make a Candy Crush game with Kirby, it'd be THAT EASY

The Pokemon Company is a Joint venture between Nintendo and Gamefreak. which means Nintendo partly owns Pokemon. Oh, and did I mention that Nintendo alone owns all Pokemon trademarks? Everything that has Pokemon in it is licensed from Nintendo.

So yeah, Nintendo is pretty much owning Pokemon and every single Pokemon product from toys to games to animes goes through them first.
