Does anyone know if you can play local multiplayer on one system?

I dont think so. You will need more than 1 Switch.

don't think so I really wish there was a local multiplayer option for my kids to use . I can already hear the fighting and bickering over whose turn it is >_

I'm pretty sure it was pretty straight forward that there was none, not like even first game's local multiplayer was anything to be sad over losing.

Agreed.  I was hoping this would have it so my kids could play some local multiplayer together in some form. Now I will have to seperate them fighting over whose turn it is to play

Yeah. Split-screen setup should be allowed or at least small number of players can share the same game across multiple systems.

Now you basically have to have multiple systems and multiple copies of the game. This is a negative point when comparing splatoon to that of other multiplayer focused game IPs.

There is no valid reason why Mario Kart and ARMS have that feature and not Splatoon. It would have fitted perfectly. I'm kinda wondering if it's about programming the AI... but then we have the Octolings in the campaign...

Damn shame it doesn't have it but split screen might have meant having to render a lot, and I mean A LOT of moving ink at times.
