That just seems way too high. As a lifetime prediction I could definitely see that happening, but first 3 months?

10m Seems pretty easy to hit. 3m on PC, 4m on XBO, and 7m on PS4.

Those Xbox and PS4 figures are pretty close to Destiny 1's lifetime totals. So to get close to Destiny 1's lifetime sales in just 3 months?

Well the installbase is way bigger so i think it will happen.

Bigger install base didn't really help the PS3/360 versions last time though

The game was on PS4/XBO so less people were likely to pick it up. When you add the sale of the last game in 2014 it sold around 4m on XB1+360 and 5.7m on PS4+PS3. I think the last gen fans will be on current gen and i think Destiny 2 will overal just reach more people. I could be wrong though.
