Any Metallica fans out there ever come across this?

I actually always felt St. Anger was an underrated album and dug some of the riffs, though I hated the crude mixing and the garbage pail sounding snares throughout. This improves on the music and tightens the sound in many ways, though whoever the singer is, just doesn't measure up to Hetfield, so it kind of puts a damper on it. If only we had this music along with Hetfield's vocals this would be one killer album..

Album of the week: Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses (1992)

So, with the start of the school year, I have decided to shift the album of the week to Saturday, in order to be able to do it in a consistent basis. In any case, this is a great deathgrind album (if you're scratching your head, it's essentially death metal fused with grindcore), with a range of extremely short, fast paced songs to ones that are longer and more slower paced. I do enjoy grindcore, but being more into the death part of the extreme metal range, I prefer the longer songs. So, my favourite songs personally are Ill-Neglect, Denial of Truth, and probably my favourite, Anti-Homophobe. I listened the shit out of the latter song!! It has a nice message too, criticizing those who are homophobic. Overall, a very enjoyable 45 minute experience.

Some cheesy 80s Japanese metal

Trivium will release their new album next month. It sounds great so far!

Some Engrish nu metal from Dead or Alive 2!! I guess I'm in a mood for Japanese people trying to sing in English right now:

This is actually one of my favourite death metal songs, and the whole album itself is great for that matter. Some nice, slower-paced death metal:

Ah yes, I remember you recommending that band to me!! I guess I'll post Sigh,  as they're one of my favourite black metal bands:

Album of the Week: Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity (1993)

Before they went all-out with their 1998 release Obscura, Gorguts were much more in line with the style of the other classic death metal bands. Being produced by Scott Burns of Morrisound fame, this album definitely contains a lot of the DNA that the albums of his work did. It's nice, groovy death metal!! However, there are also some more experimental sections, like the piano interludes, for example. All in all, it's one that I'd highly recommend!

The new August Burns Red album is phenomenal, possibly a top 5 album of the year for me.

Nice!! I liked that song quite a bit myself! I used to have their album Messengers, I don't think I still have it, though.
