One could make the argument that it's not about whether Waters's complaint about Comey's lack of credibility was true and warranted a firing, when the President clearly fired him for other reasons entirely: the President firing an FBI director because he was uncomfortable with how his allies were being investigated is a bigger issue.

Ms. Waters sounds like a person who has been issued that talking point to repeat on television and can't quite recall the logic of how to string the thoughts together. She didn't even go to the defense "I meant he had no credibility as far as what he said in regard to the specific issue that was at hand at the time I made that comment, but I never said he was incompetent."
