Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Predict Arms' Metascore

I predict most reviewers will be too scared to properly rate it, so it'll get a 90+.

Huh? That would be rating it properly.

I feel like the reviewers might actually do Nintendo's new IP justice this time, as unlike Splatoon ARMS is less reliant on the free dlc since it already has a solid amount of content and variety from the get go, so there's nothing to offset the amazing gameplay with. Beyond that it doesn't look like there are any significant flaws with the game, so I could see it getting enough 10s to reach the 90s.

Hype culture will contribute as well.  Heaven forbid a Nintendo game/game with weeb-service scores too low.  Prepare your inboxes, reviewers.

OT: Predicted in RavenXtra's awesome thread and sticking with it - 78

Yeah, it couldn't possibly be because the game is actually... good.

Never said it wasn't good. NioH is a great game, and I feel the mid-80's score it boasts is relevant to that. What I'm saying is Arms is most definitely not a game changer. Bloodborne, Breath of the Wild, NieR Automata- those are game changers worthy of 90+ scores. Arms is a nice distraction until the next Mario comes out.

What exactly did any of these games change in the industry then? Obviously it's too soon to say that about Breath of the Wild, but Bloodborne changed nothing and I doubt Nier will be any different. Bayonetta 1 & 2 also changed nothing and they also received stellar reviews.

Nier is really just your typical Platinum game and Bloodborne is your typical From Software game, these are absolutely NOT game changers in any sort of way (that doesn't mean they can't be great of course).

Arms actually is a very unique game and it could be a game changer for the fighting genre as a lot of the more traditional fighters have struggled in the sales department.

No, it wouldn't be rating it properly, because absolutely nothing about this game screams 90+ outside of the character design.

Splatoon did well because it filled a gap in Nintendo's library; team-based shooters. It had all the necessary Nintendo quirks/quality and was a genre that had been demanded. But Arms? But nice is that trying to fill for Nintendo? Fighting? Smash Bros has that covered.

Ikr, but let them live with their excuses I guess, just because they can't accept facts such as Nintendo actually makes good games, and that apparently even if the game wasn't good it'll still get a 90 on metacrtic because Nintendo made it.

Funny because I didn't see this Nintendo game getting the review scores these guys apparently say it would get because Nintendo made it; http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/animal-crossing-amiibo-festivalhttp://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/animal-crossing-amiibo-festival

Go figure.

Arms is Punch-Out with a twist (pun intended).

Bloodborne finally managed to convey madness as a game mechanic, as well as give us the best Lovecraft game ever without even being Lovecraft. Not only that, but it is the DEFINITION of "not your typical FromSoftware game".

Breath of the Wild is a new paradigm of open world adventure games.

And you clearly haven't played NieR.
