Have to agree with above statements, windows phone has a lot of potential that has never been used, which is sad.

 

 

definitely agree. Hopefully Surface Phone rebrand will help. It's so good!

On-topic: I do believe that if Windows 10 S becomes a success, that could lead to Windows 10 Mobile making a sort of counter-offensive. Given UWP, it wouldn't surprise me if we can play XBone games on a Windows Phone in maybe five years' time...

Windows Phone is not bad tbh, I had one and loved it but no apps killed it for me, bought the HTC M8 back in 2015 and never looked back, too bad is another flop for Microsoft, it was a great OS.

about a year ago, I tried windows phone for 3 days and gave it away for free. I like the user interface, but there is no app support.

Windows Phone became good enough when it was too late.
MS being even greedier than Apple with app devs, at least in the past years, didn't help, either.

Can't stand Linux and OSX to be honest. I'm not ready to give up gaming either.

It hit it's peak around the Lumia 920/Windows Phone 8. Then the platform just stagnated and stagnated, handsets trickled out slowly, especially high-end handets.
You can't do that in a fast moving market like Phones

M$ dun goofed. They keep tripping on themselves. They let Nokia go to waste. Everything they established on the phone side was copied and made better by other companies. Xbox voice commands with Kinect was the stepping stone to personal home assistants. It got everything I said and worked like butter. Cortana replaced that and got dumber and deaf. It's a chore to use Cortana. Now Alexa took that role. They took out snap on Xbone and made it into a regular console pretty much. I bought that shit for watching TV or Netflix and playing games at the same. They have chained the media beast. 😐 Now it's just a weaker PS4. At least when you snapped something with the game, the weaker resolution didn't damage the eyes so bad. Now it's just full blown game mode.
