Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ultra Street Fighter II Is The No.1 Selling Game On Amazon Right Now

Like I said in the other thread, the game is review-proof. People know what they're getting.

USFII is kind of like Switch on a smaller scale. Its appeal is still outside the comprehension of the hardcore gaming enthusiast. Forum posters like us think, "oh it's only three bucks on PS3 or X360" or "it's a port of a 26-year-old game."

What we fail to understand is that millions of people never owned a PS3 or X360, and many of them are excited about playing the final version of an iconic game that captured their imaginations as kids.

We've been under the spell of the "AAA" gaming machine for too long.

I get why it would appeal to those people or even me, but the price is still a bit too high.

Fair enough. I'm totally sympathetic to folks who see the price tag as too high. This is an expensive hobby and I'd never begrudge someone being careful with his/her money.

But just as many of us, myself included, wrongly believed $300 to be too high a price tag for Switch, I think we're also underestimating the appeal of a title like USFII. We're people who are buying dozens of games a year, stretched thin across multiple subscription services, accessories, and season passes. Meanwhile, someone who hasn't owned a console in a decade or more looks at Switch at $300 and sees a steal. The same is probably the case for a game like USFII.

Jesus, how? First 1-2 Switch is doing better than it ever should have and now SFII......how?

Remember people once said the same of the NS' price, he's right in what he says in that it has an appeal that isn't affected by reviews, like the NS players are already well aware of what's in the package and made up their minds long before reviews were even a factor. I have a feeling a number of NS games may end up following this trend due to the NS attracting this type of audience.

I am willing to put down great money for my hobby, but i'm still playing BOTW. I would have bought it already if it were 20 now. But i'll pick it up sooner or later .

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Yeah £35 pound is way too much for me on a game like this plus I'm still busy with Botw

Was Street fighter V on first place?

I don't know how, but my friend got his copy yesterday, the 25th in Puerto Rico. He might know the owner of a store or something.

So third parties do sell well on Nintendo consoles. I bet a couple of third party studios feel stupid for not having anything prepared. Not a lot of competition, so easier to get good sales with games like this.

Capcom should start porting Resident Evil VII and Street Fighter V.

Wouldn't it be funny if...

...you know.
