Please always put Patcher in the title when making a thread about Patcher.

Who's "Patcher?"

I can see scorpio for $499
PSVR price cut
And ps4 pro for $299

If Scorpio launches at 500 then it should be the next gen console of Microsoft.

As i don't see it dropping in price to 300 over the next two years.

It includes a 4k player, which is one of the things Playstation dropped to keep the price down near $400. It's a little like the original PS3, though not nearly as expensive to manufacture.

It's going to be at least $500, and that's not an unfair price for what you're getting... it just flirts with that price point that most gamers have refused to cross for decades now.

It being fair doesn't mean that the price isn't big. I don't see scorpio being just an upgrade with that price.

Both the Pro and the Scoprio have flirted with the idea of being a new gen as opposed to a minor upgrade. The main issue is the CPU, as both the PS4 and even the Scorpio's stronger CPU are relatively minor upgrades over their original models, whereas the GPU is indeed a substantial upgrade in both instances. We're already seeing the CPU bottleneck issue keeping games from 60fps, so they're really just walking the line between a minor and complete upgrade.

So long as there are no games exclusive to the Pro/Scorpio, then they'll continue to be considered this gen.  As for the Scorpio, it IS "just an upgrade", but it's a more substantial one than the PS4 offered. If you're one of those people who would spring for the upgrade to get access to superior visuals (and in the Scorpio's case a 4k DVD player), then the price is probably just fine.

Whether or not it would be outside of the range of your average gamer is difficult to say... They're going to need to show some absolutely must-have games, but perhaps the fact that so many people went with the PS4 over the Xbox1 a few years ago will mean there's people who never got the original and would be interested in the Scorpio.

Regardless, I'd expect it to be at least $500 (and that's rather pushing it). If you want superior visuals, a native 4k experience, and a 4k player, that price range is reasonable... I just don't know that the demand is there.

Scorpio will not sell at $500. People will keep buying Switch at $300 and even PS4 Pro if it drops to $350 and especially PS4 and Xbox One S if they are $200 Black Friday.

I do not see how but Scorpio would be a smash at $400 maybe $450.

It doesn't matter, day 1 patches are toxic anyway!

SAD!

Seems pretty clear with MS messaging of "premium" in regards to Scorpio that it will be $499.

People thinking a PS5 will roll out in 2018 with even more power upgrades are just silly. The PS5 would be $599 or even $699 with the specs that people seem to hope/guess at in 2018. At that point, the Scorpio would be able to drop from $499 to $449 or even $399.

Like others have said the Scorpio will probably be at $499. If MS wanted to just blow up the whole marketplace and really just go after Sony, they would release it at $349-$399. But, $349-$399 would be a monster money loser...

It is near the end of the end....
