SNK has revealed – via the game’s official Steam store page – that The King of Fighters XIV will be released on the PC on June 15th. In addition, the publisher has also unveiled the official PC requirements for this new fighting game. 

The King of Fighters XIV is the newest entry in the acclaimed THE KING OF FIGHTERS series of fighting games that is lead by veteran creator and FATAL FURY creator Yasuyuki Oda.

And here are the game’s official PC requirements:

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.40GHz
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 480, Intel® HD Graphics 4400, ATI Radeon™ HD 5000 series, or better. OpenGL 4.3 required.
    • Storage: 16 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: Compatible with XInput and DirectInput USB devices including gamepads and arcade sticks based on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and DualShock controllers.

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: WINDOWS® 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-BIT Required)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-4670 @ 3.40GHz
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950 or better
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 16 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: Compatible with XInput and DirectInput USB devices including gamepads and arcade sticks based on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and DualShock controllers.

The price point seems quite high and having to pre-order in order to gain access to the beta testing phase also seems offputting for me. The netcode will be an important part for them to get right though, bad netcode = dead game.
