Forums - Politics Discussion - At what point are Impeachment proceedings going to be started with Trump?

After the Senate elections in 2018. Democrats need to win majority.

I wouldn't hope on that. Off years, democrats always have a low turnout at polls.

But they would need to win majority of house as well. The house is what brings the impeachment up. The senate only does the trial and sentencing.

So they would need the house to first impeach, then the senate to kick him out of office.

and not ot mention it's 2/3 pretty sure, not just a simple majority.

Insane liberals are a never ending source of entertainment. Every Democrat wanted Comey gone when he "cost" the most corrupt candidate in US history the election last November. Rod Rosenstein the deputy AG who has strong support on both sides(he passed 94-6) recommended that snake Comey be fired.

Mr. $675,000 bribe McCabe should be the next to go.

Yea its amusing to glance a politics once in a while. It's poisonous to follow it. You'll just get angry.

But since like November of 2016 people have been clamorign for his firing. NOw he is fired and everyone is in a tissy.

Following the Syrian gas attacks, the media was having a shit storm screaming at Trump to do something. In a couple days he bombs them. Then the Media is in a tissy about him bombing Syria.

There is only one word to describe politics. Hypocrisy. Don't matter what side your on, both are corrupt, greedy, shady, hypocrites.

As far as I heard impeachments need confirmation from the house and senate so I pretty much gave up on hoping for it.
Republicans have shown that they will throw away all of their pride and convictions as long as they can say they "won".

I don't know. The reps are pretty frigging wide eyed at Comey being canned.  I mean, he just canned the guy who's heading a bunch of the investigations that either directly or indirectly lead to yourself.  He also used a guy in the process who's also part of the problem.

At SOME point "And we're pretty happy that I respect Jim Jun Il too (and I'd love to have his campaign money (if he'd just stop blowing on those pesky ICBM's he wants to aim at us)) HAS to end.

I mean without Comey, Trump doesn't win. There can't be anyone who disagrees with that.

At some point, the whole country is going to associate Trump as the leader of all levels of government based on his obvious messing with the system at every level. I mean anything less and you'd be putting a vote towards corruption.(even though there are some damn good licans)

I'd hope soon. But, don't try reasoning with the Trump loyalists. They'd let Trump skull-fuck their dead parents before they admitted any wrong-doing on his part. Hell, even then they'd find a way to justify it XD If he gets impeached it'd happen next year. Unless he really fucks up, he's staying in office, unfortunately for the world

Take one of Trumps biggest critiques McCain. He always has some shit to throw at Trump but come voting time he's instantly on board with whatever shit Trump has come up with.

There may be some moderate Reps but as you can see with the passed Health Care bill it's not enough because there are still people voting for him despite claiming to hate him.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Without concrete evidence of major wrong-doing, it's not going to happen. It's as simple as that. There has to be charges leveled that are serious enough that it would force Republicans to turn on one of their own out of fear of public outrage. So, yeah, it would have to be a big scandal.

Until then, there is really no point in asking when/if it will happen. When it gets to that point it will be five steps past obvious.

Better to focus on the next election. Trump is providing a LOT of fodder for his opponents and unless he rights the ship, things could get very interesting. Of course, the Democrats have to not be incompetent, or Trump could back his way into office once more.

Don't be fooled that everyone is against him, either. His fanbase has very much bought into his brand of propaganda. I heard two supporters last week complaining that everything is the fault of Democrats for "not letting him do his job," even despite the fact that Republicans are in a position of power. One of them made a joke about killing all the Democrats, which ... yeah, talk about reinforcing a stereotype.

Trump's fans/lackeys will continue to follow him no matter what he says or does as President or found in his shady past dealings.
Trump's critics/haters will continue to attack Trump and try to bring him down.
Neutral fence sitters will just happily sit back and eat popcorn as the Trump drama unfolds.

To be frank, you probably won't see an impeachment charge for a while (if ever). Impeachment isn't easily achieved and usually requires bipartisan support. Dems would have to win lots of support in 2018 to even perhaps jumpstart serious action and inquiry. (And given the 2018 Senate map - I'd say their chances are slim to regain the majority there. Perhaps they can take back the house though.)
