What makes you think it is possible?

What makes you think they can't as they just had a year that achieved it and this is before their business plan is fully in motion.

Wow, another. Do you think Nintendo has sport teams to sell every year?

They won't need one to sell they'll have theme parks, a successful platform and mobile going by their plans.

That's what they did in a year with horrible wiiu sales and the decadent sales of 3DS and still got great numbers, now that they have a new complete winner on their hands and other big plans out of the console business, yes, they could return to those profits, or at least get way closer than anticipated, as much as it hurts for some.

Ok but please don't dismiss the fact this $920 is due to the sale of a sports team. Also, Wii numbers would be $2.5B in profit.

The horrible WiiU sales and low 3DS sales were more than compensated by the sale of the Seattle Mariners which netted Nintendo a cool $670M. Don't forget that. From your post you'd think that their traditional gaming business is what is doing the work.

Which means they were still having good profits even on one of their most difficult years ever, with 2 consoles dying and releasing less software than usual, yet even without the sale of the team the profits were more than decent. Be prepared for what is coming.

Only person trying to dismiss things is yourself tbh as the article also highlights the impact of mobile, not my problem if them doing well is hard for you to swallow.

Because they done similar Wii/DS profit now!?

Profit mostly due to the sale of the Seattle Mariners. Read my previous posts in this topic.

That really doesn't matter, profit is profit, future of Switch looks very bright and they will have other business, like going forward with mobile or theme parks.

Also fact is that they had only one month of Switch sales, but that really doesn't matter, its matter they made $920m profit. That was one of highest Nintendo FY profit ever, but usual Nintendo Wii/DS profit was around $1B and thats considerd for "Nintendo-like" profit.

I'm not dismissing anything. Just pointing out the facts. Impact of mobile - it seems that Nintendo only got $3.5M from Pokemon Go in Q4 2016.
