Forums - Sales Discussion - March 4th 2017 Weekly Hardware Chart Update (Nintendo Switch Launch Numbers)

The Switch sold 1.3m 'WW'? That's not really that good when you compare it to the launches of the XB1 and the PS4.

Aren't these the sales for the week ending 4th of March? So this is only two days? I believe PS4 did a bit over 1 million in one day right?

It actually sold mord than the Xbox One's launch week despite the Xbox One releasing during the Holiday season.

Really? Has anyone got the launch week numbers for both consoles? I know the PS4 sold 250k in the UK alone and for some reason I thought both consoles had sold well over the Switch. I guess I'm wrong but I'd like to see the figures none the less.

The PS5 Exists.

"Supply constrained"

I mean, they could just make another bar. But they would have to cram the other ones to make space.

Or they could just convert the WiiU chart to a composite chart? Or even more radical approach, make them all a pie Chart!!!! Its still a chart innt?

It definitely wasnt supply constrained in Europe.

It never sold out on any Amazon sites, probably a bad thing for Scalpers who bought 20 of those consoles.

Wtf under those estimates Zelda has a near 90% attach rate and all of that is in one day.

Not too hard to believe really....... I am actually more surprised that some people actually bought the NS and didnt buy Zelda or it.

Right, yeah, I thought I wasn't imagining things. What was the accumulated sales for the first week for both consoles?

Xbox one sold 1.56M in its launch week. Also don't forget that that thing launched at $500 and without Japan.

Switch - 1,333,622 units
Xbox One - 1,104,585 units (including Japan is really meaningless because all it would add is 25,000 units)

PS4 - aligned - 2,095,199 units... Well, good for you, Sony.... (Holy crap)

According to Wikipedia it was around 2.1 million by about 2 weeks in, which isn't what you asked for but might give you an idea.

It was actually funny. PS4 sold like 1M in its launch week. And it only launched in NA in that week launching in EU the follwing week.

the follwing week it sold less than 100k in NA then sold like 800k in EU in the same week.

In the same "window" XB1 had sold 1.5M consoles.

PS4 didn't release in japan though till the following year.
