Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox Scorpio's Hype Justified by it's Hardware specs

What's everyone initial thoughts on launch day sales for scorpio? providing it's 499 or less?

Thoughts anyone?

Elegant design, are my first thoughts. I had the same thinking back when I saw the PS4slim.

Space seems well used.

The offloading of the cpu, by adding some DX12 funktions to the GPU's command-proccessors, to reduce CPU loads, seem great.

Also the cooling system, seems like its well thought out (much better than the way the Xbox One was).

I doubt it ll be less than 499$. So its abit pricey, but fair for what you get.

However Im not sure how well it ll sell.... why? well "PS4 slim" & "Xbox One S" will be 199$ this holiday (imo), and the PS4pro will get a 50$ price cut.

Means it ll end up PS4pro @349$ vs Xbox Scorpio @499$, for the holidays.

That 150$ is a big differnce in price, once your standing inside a store and have to pick one.

This one does 4k checkerboarding..... this one does native 4k... hmmm.

Also games, we need to know what MS has comeing for it.

true next gen native 4k/60fps goodness arrives this holiday 499 you heard it here first.

Unless it's getting better exclusives than PlayStation and Nintendo, I think I'll pass on any Xbox hype.

Yep, it's good for console owners, but a decent price will make all the difference in the world.

Might want to manage expectations considering a gtx 1080 struggles with 4k gaming.

Microsofts issue aint tech anyway, their game library is waning as theyve done a complete 180 from the 360 with their dedication to exclusives. Im still very salty about Scalebound and i wouldnt be surprised if Nintendo are confident with their slim launch window lineup because the XB1 has nothing on the horizon atm.

It is looking good!

Personally it takes 3 things to hype me with a console.

1. Powerful
2. Price
3. Games

Scorpio is powerful but xbox doesn't have the games I want. I also have little faith the price will be appealing. Considering it only hits 1/3 for me I'm not very hyped.

I personally don't find that pricing ever hypes me, but it sure can be a serious joy killer. Like with the Switch.

I think it's what all the 'reasonable' folk expected. If you didn't overhype yourselves you'll probably be happy with the announcement.

If they can return to their early 360 days then it will sure be an interesting battle!

While I question how capable Microsoft says its machine is until we see games running on it, it does overall seem like if you want the best console experience then the Scorpio is your thing. I'm just not sure how much of a splash it will make in the market since the price wasn't announced yet but it should be ok.
