Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Zelda: Breath of the Wild getting paid DLC (new hard mode/new dungeons/new story)

Eh, haters gonna hate.
That hard mode probably won't be just a higher difficulty like the way that you get more damage by enemies. They will probably add a twist to it. Not in the sense of Master Quest, but maybe some kind of survival aspect to the game like the need to eat or drink or who knows.
Could be wrong though.
The last Zelda Game that had a hard mode was A link Between Worlds, and that was just a higher difficulty. Meh, ..whatever.

I wonder if those $99 special edition buyers are happy about season pass purchases too...

Nice to see the sane Nintendo fans here calling it what it is, glad I didn't preorder any games for switch seems best approach is going to be same as PS4/Xbox, wait 6 month buy complete edition for less than price of launch version

Did your approach work for Mario Kart 8 on WII U?

I'm pretty sure sane people wouldn't complain about $20. This is content that is being developped after the release of the game, so it's not like you're getting scammed out of content that should have been there at launch.

It took Nintendo 3 years to release a complete edition of Mario Kart 8 by the way, have fun waiting!

Gamers truly are some of the most entitled people ever.

Thankfully the only Mario kart worth playing was on the Snes

People will defend this despite constantly bashing PS4/Xbox One/ PC games for having season pass.
Same with paid online service.
No web browser
Smartphone to use voice chat...

Don't get me started on power and third party support...

Do you have any evidence of Nintendo fans doing that on this forum?

From the looks of it there are enough blind sheep to counteract the people with sense, it seems.

Yeah, how dare I reserve my judgement until the dlc is actually out to see if it's worth the $20.

If anyone is a blind sheep it's you I'm afraid. Blindly following the doctrine that "all dlc is bad and game developers don't deserve to make money from their games!". Development costs have risen tremendously over the years, but the price of games has stagnated for years now. Developers need to recoup the costs of development some way or another to stay in business.

How is waiting till the dlc is out any different than waiting till a re-release that includes it when the whole topic is about season passes?
