Forums - Gaming Discussion - Should nintendo just buy sony's game division?

Nintendo: 'Can we buy all your game's division?'
Sony: 'Yeah, alright.'

The PS5 Exists.

The funny thing is, if it were for sale.... nintendo couldn't afford to buy Playstation

Even assuming it was economically feasible, I'd imagine there is still too much bad blood between Sony and Nintendo over the SNES CD betrayal for it to happen.

I would like to see Nintendo buy out more developers, like maybe Sega (lord knows Sega could use the quality control). Maybe Platinum? Capcom? Of course, the companies would have to go for sale first, but Nintendo could gain plenty of exclusives by buying out a single large Japanese developer. If it were currently feasible Nintendo probably would have already done it.

Another dream scenario - buy Rare back from Microsoft. The developers might not be at the same level as 90s Rare, but getting the rights to those IPs back would be big.

It's impressive when you consider how much smaller Nintendo is as a company than Sony.

Nintendos profits are 4 times that of the entire sony corp. And that is with a failed wii u console! Of course microsofts profits are far greater than these two small companies but i think it would be smart for nintendo to buy sonys game division so that nintendo will have decent hardware and more prevelance in europe.

What do you guys think?

Microsoft and Sony are comparable in employee size last I checked.

Nintendo should build a brick wall with question marks everywhere and make Sony pay for it.

LOL

Na, closing down Sony's development studios should be done by Sony. They are the proven experts.

Nope. All Nintendo needs to do is buy Naughty Dog.

Oh Donald...............
