Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump committed to cutting ties with Europe, apparently, in favour of Russia...

Seeing as how the EU is actively raising its own army with military bases planned in all member state countries while simultaneously overturning the BREXIT vote and intimidating any country that expresses a desire to leave the union, I agree 100% with Trump.

The EU was meant as an economic union, it was never meant to dissolve national borders or create an army to ensure subservience. Furthermore, the EU was never democratically elected and those in power have absolutely no democratic obligations to the people. In fact, the EU has a lot more in common with the USSR than Russia has with its own soviet past today.

Americans need to treat the EU has a stark warning of what lies ahead if you continue down the path of socialism. We already see top left-wing figures like Rosie O'Donell calling for martial law in America. Socialism inevitably leads to communism and we now see exactly this happening to Europe who was once the poster child of democratic socialism. Socialism is tyranny supported by the people, communism is that same tyranny after the people tried to reject it and the government said "no".

Russia wants a Finlandization of Europe (meaning a mainland Europe that is under control of a Russian sphere).

Getting Britian to cut itself off from Europe is a long sought after goal of theirs and is a big step towards that goal:

You guys are being suckered IMO, there is never a "vacuum of power", someone will always seize a power oppurtunity and right now Russia is doing a great job of advancing their goals.

A weaker, divided Europe benefits someone.

Trump supporters put their hands over their ears when they hear any criticism of their dear Trump. They ignore all of the silly tweets Trump makes and dismiss it as Trump being Trump. They will keep on believing Trump will make America great again.

Say bye bye Eastern Europe, especially Ukraine.

Fuck, this is not good..

Chill man, chill. Our countries are safe. There is a huge base in Romania and only last week 4.700 US soldiers arrived to Poland with many Abrams tanks and other heavy equipment - and that's only the beginning. US needs Russia on its side to confront China, but at the same time they are drawing a solid line in Europe that Russia can't cross. Ukraine is probably screwed, but other Central European countries are safe.

Also, at the same time Americans sabotaged the Chinese Silk Road big time... This is sad for us, since we'd earn some big money of of it, fbut I guess that's the price you have to pay for safety.

I think we could see a new type of Russian Empire forming, certainly I think in the next 10 years, Russia's power over all of Europe will increase.

You could see Europe decrease, fragment, and weaken quite a bit and Russian influence and power grow. The key is keeping Britain and the US out of it, these are the Cold War nemesis' that gave Russia all kinds of headaches, if they can keep them embroiled in isolationist distractions, then it's open season.

But first Trump needs to lift the sanctions, those are really hurting Russia's economy big time, once those are off, they are in the clear.

With the UK out of the picture, Russia is easily the largest military force in Europe.

He's playing both sides, why is that hard to see ?

With his ego he will never tolerate Putin, while Europe is weak and he'll be the defacto boss of boss to them.

The Chinese planned to develop the existing train connection between Chengdu in China and Łódź in Poland. They made a bid to buy a piece of land to build huge cargo, warehouses, etc., so that they could run their operations in the EU from here and we were very happy to sell it to them. But last week it has been blocked by the very pro-American Minister of Defence, though. Coincidently just as a US armoured division landed in Poland... Nobody knows what's going to happen with it now and what the real reason behind the decision was, since media reports that a big battle for the Czech oil and gas market between Chinese and Polish companies could have played a part in this as well. Either way, nobody envisioned that and this means a step-back for the Silk Road for now.

Nothing Trump says has any value whatsoever. In the end he will claim that he never said it and call everyone with proof a liar. People should stop putting so much weight on his words and just look at what he does, if he even does anything that is.

I'd say those days will soon be over, if they aren't already. American election campaigns are dirty with lots of wild mud-slinging, so it's pretty normal that things go crazy. Now that he doesn't need to insult Clinton anymore, he's been more levelheaded. (Yes, he set the bar very low; it was basically lying on the floor.)

Saying that the EU is led by Germany and that Merkel has made very bad decisions isn't anything out of line. Saying that he wants to see if good deals can be made with Russia and if the amount of nuclear arms can be decreased isn't whack either.

+1

Trump won't be as bad as people think.  Not that I would have voted for him.
