Nintendo sold approximately 196,000 units of the NES Classic Edition in the U.S. during the month of November, according to gaming industry sales tracking firm NPD Group (via GamesBeat).

It seems like Nintendo needs to do a wayyyyy better job to size demand, considering the "undershipping" theory is of course false according to our own experts.

They could've sold over 1m if they had a little more confidence in their product.

I gave up a while ago on ever getting one of those, not gonna fork over $160 to some scalping piece of shit. I've less respect for them than I do a paparazzo.

I wanted one so bad, but your lack of confidence and prediction led to scalpers hording and selling them off for twice the price. I'll be lucky if I even get one after Christmas, if at all with the way things are going.
