Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokemon SuMo: Fastest Selling Games in Australia! 240k Sold (in 2 weeks)

Nintendo has revealed that Pokemon Sun and Moon are the fastest selling Nintendo games in Australia. The two titles have shifted over 240,000 units in less than two weeks.

That’s a 67 percent increase over Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire – the previous record holders for Nintendo’s fastest-selling games – during the same period when these games launched in 2014.

WTF is with Pokemon breaking the record every time a new one releases?? O_0
But I'm not that surprised, the launch here was insane. A lot of stores were reporting their biggest turnouts for a midnight launch.
I'm sure the Pokemon Go effect helped a bit too. Australia went crazy for that shit, I'm sure at least a few people looked into the 3DS games.

Considering Big W had it for just 46 bucks, not surprising :^)

Why are you suprised? 3DS has sold 700k as of September 2015 in the kangaroo land... http://www.cybershack.com.au/games/new-3ds-and-new-3ds-xl-get-2014-release-date-australia

It was the fastest selling console in australia till 2013.

It must have surpassed 1m sales as of now...

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

The writing was on the wall that it would sell fast.

A i said in that other shipped thread. Midnight launch was huge compared to others. never seen so many excited little kids run for games at that hour lol.

THen you had the adults who were more rude that th ekids tryin got push through in the line. LIke they would die a virgin if they didn't get the game within 1minute.

Pokemon Go probably was more popular here in Aus that Japan. There was soook much people in the Sydney Opera House all playing it XD The amount of people there probably looks very small before the game released.

Pocky Lover Boy!
