This thread just reminded me that three months ago my mother gave my Wii away to my little cousin for free without even asking me first. Thank you mom.

Far from my fav console, but it's the home console of Xenoblade, so that alone makes me fully respect the Wii.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
Happy Birthday Wii!
Turned it on this year and played 2 rounds of Mario Strikers on legend, got destroyed!
Well now I feel old. I remember lining up outside GAME at 7:30am so I could pick my pre-order up before I went into Sixth Form College. I'd been waiting for Twilight Princess for what felt like an age, and couldn't wait to try out Virtual Console and eventually get stuff like Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. The Wii has particularly fond memories as a multiplayer powerhouse, both when I lived at home, where it was the only gaming system I've ever owned that my parents would regularly use with me, and at university, where we'd play Brawl until 4 in the morning.
In terms of single-player highlights, I'd have to say World of Goo, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, No More Heroes, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Metroid Prime Trilogy stand out. However, my top Wii games have to be the two Galaxy titles. Joyous, inventive, unashamedly gamey, beautiful even in standard definition, and meticulously designed.
A superb console that very often doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Happy birthday Wii! I remember first seeing and playing it at a friend's house many years ago and being absolutely gobsmacked, and got one the following Christmas. Many great memories on it
