Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo NS without touch screen? - No way

Will it have a touch screen?

Several people here on the forum talk about NS having no touch controls. And indeed it is not confirmed by Nintendo if NS has a touch screen or not.

But ...

This thing will definately have a touchscreen.

Reasons:

- It is cheap

- No one these days wants to navigate through the OS with a cursor and buttons. There were rumors of the NX running an android version - ever seen android without touch?

- They can market the thing having tablet functionality

- Several 3rd party developers on the support list are mobile game developer

- Nintendo can port their Wii U, 3DS and mobile games to the system

People do that on the PS4 and XB1?

And even if the NS does have a touch screen they`d have to do it there too since you wouldn`t be able to use the touch screen when it`s hooked up to the TV anyway.

Good point.

Yeah right. What I mean is ... touch is just the preferred method by most. So why not use it when you have a screen available?!

Yep, it's made to be playable with a classic controller on a TV. So "'no touchscreen" seems obvious, and they didn't show it in the video, so...

Im guessing they didn't show it on the trailer or have not said anything is because they want everyone to focus on the Switch idea (play at home or outside).

Which I am hoping so.

Pocky Lover Boy!

could have a touch screen mode for the interface and some small games. But when the machine is connected to the dock, how are we going to use the touch screen?

If the Wii U can have touch screen then the NS can too.

Maybe Nintendo just didn't want to show their ides of using the touch screen just yet.

Like WiiU and 3DS .. of course the OS will be navigateable by the standard controller. But why would they completely dismiss touch controls? Especially on the go  touch controls would be really helpfull.
