How is it gimmicky? Did not see graphical improvements on tv either.

I like almost everything about the concept.
Only dislike so far is the design, kind of generic and the gamepad is ugly when is detached, but other than that, cool :)
Like:
Games, 3rd party support list, mobility
Dislike:
the sliding controller thing, dips in Zelda and Skyrim (from what I see), ports?, unknown info
It's hard to say without enough information :p

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Who said it is, the Wii U wouldn't be able to run the remastered version due to the added textures alone so the platform would have to be in range of X1 to manage that. |
You said it had to be similar to XBO in power minimum...
There's a huge difference between the Wii U and the XBO. I'm pretty sure halfway in-between can run Skyrim Remastered.

Yeah, the screen and switch controller are going to add to the cost of the device and I could have done without it
And no successor to the 3ds is needed, NX is portable, so I agree with that.
Wish they made two seperate devices that used the same cartridges, (it would reduce price) but oh well.

dude, gimmicky? it's functionality, can you play skyrim and nba outside on your ps4? |
I thought with a Vita you can play your ps4 games outside?
I can tell a console like this was really made with the Japanese market in mind. They'll have this more powerful thing to play on the go. So I see it being a big success there. A convenient item for that region. Can't think of any bads... just still wondering about spces, battery life and game lineup.
Liked the portability the Wii U couldn't offer. The overall concept was good since the bunch of rumors began. I find it funny that the screen acts like a cartridge that has a cartridge. This gimmick seems much more fun and slightly more innovative than both Wii and Wii U. It kinda has a mass market appeal.
What I disliked are some small nuisances. At what resolution the screen will be at? At what resolution will it run on the TV? Wirelessly using the controllers reminds me of the Wii nunchucks, which I found very uncomfortable to use. Also, how will this console be bundled? Will the screen come separate from the console? How much for extra controllers? I guess I'll have to wait out for more info. Even if I like the whole concept, it still reminds me of the Wii U, and that didn't entice me at all.
I'd have to say that this is the first Nintendo console I'm interested of in ages. I'm not thinking on buying it yet, but it might be more enticed if it has BC for Super Mario Maker.

What's different in the remastered version, is it 60 fps?
