Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron have begun production of the PlayStation (PS) 4 Pro, a new Sony game console to be launched on November 10, and Foxconn has undertaken trial production of the NX, a new Nintendo games console, according to industry sources.

In addition to PS 4 Pro, Foxconn is the largest OEM for Nintendo NX, followed by Japan-based Misumi Electronics and Hosiden, the sources noted. Annual production of Nintendo NX is estimated at 9.5-10 million units, the sources said.

Trial producations is usually done around 6 months before launch, full production usually starts around 3 months before launch. This basicly confirmes that NX is on schedule for March launhc.

Wow without a reveal. What if they reveal it and people hate it and it receives Xbox One level reveal of backlash? Then Ninty is fucked and we need to wait another 5 years?

Hey, just saying. It's happened before and if they are that optimistic then the system must be amazing.

It expected that revile will be in near future, in next couple of weeks. Also they revile Wii U year and half before launch and that really didnt help them at all.

Nope, they even nerfed the CPU which sucked hard. that worked real well for them.

Nintendo makes the products they want, I've never seen them massively change a hardware product even after feedback (good or bad). 

They didn't change the N64 due to cartridges/CD, they still released the Virtual Boy even after it got so-so reactions before release, the whole Wii U release, making the GameCube purple, etc. etc. etc. 

They make very minor changes sometimes ... The GCN pad got the crappy small d-pad from the GBA added onto it, the Wii U got full analog sticks instead of the sliders, the N64 got the grey/colored button controller instead of the black/silver button Ultra 64 pad ... but I can't really think of too many more changes. 

Nintendo gives zero fucks about product input once they've decided on a direction, lol. 

This is very true but how much longer can they keep doing that in this day in age and this economy? It's concerning to me as a fan.

It's part of the company culture apparently, Japanese companies are in general fairly stubborn, but apparently Kyoto-based Japanese company culture is incredibly stubborn. 

Once Nintendo internally chooses a direction for a product they generally will follow it right to the grave or all the way to success, but there's very little deviation in the course. 

Initial reception to the NX won't phase Nintendo I doubt (though they may be feeling more nervous these days). They will just say "well no one understood the Famicom at first either! If we had listened to everyone we never would've made Donkey Kong!" or some other phrase.

If true, then it's good news. It should mean that the March deadline is still on :).

They already have one foot in the door of mobile games.
