Forums - General Discussion - Which gaming review site do you trust the least?

IGN

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Polygon. Whoever they have doing their gameplay videos is absolutely atrocious, which makes me question whether I can trust their reviewer's opinions when they may not even have the competence to be able to play the games that they're reviewing. In that regard, IGN is a close second. -_-

Besides that, I think they allow social issues to influence their reviews too much. The fact that they found the need to complain about CDPR even giving the option for a sympathetic response during the Bloody Baron quest is the prime example of this. Polygon is far too forcefully opinionated regarding certain subjects for me to be able to relate to anything they have to say. Meanwhile I'm sat hear wishing there was a game that let you be the most racist, sexist, homophobic, selfish, hateful son of a bitch imaginable, in spite of any in game consequences, if you so please. But that would never fly, because people like Polygon tend to think that giving the option to do a thing in a videogame is the same as explicitly condoning said act.

Gamespot.

I haven't been on their site recently but at one point in the past last gen they've really shown alot of bias against Sony and pro MS.

They'd review a Sony exclusive sequel game and would say like "oh the gameplay is good but its the same gameplay making it not as exciting and fresh", but then they'd review a MS exclusive sequel game and would say like "oh the gameplay is good and because its the same gameplay it's still just as exciting!" It's like they use the same basis for each review and spin it to their likeness.

From that point on I just stopped caring about their reviews/site.

Honestly, people say this a lot but I've never had this notion from them, and I think it can't be proved with facts. If we were to look at all the reviews according to exclusive sequels, Sony would have as much if not more better scoring ones than Microsoft.

Heck, of the very small "Gamespot 10/10" list, there's two Playstation exclusive sequel games (three if we count Journey as a standalone exclusive game). That should tell you just how much "bias" there is.

None in specific, I just look for reviewers that have a similar taste that I do, and for the most part ignore all the others

Or maybe those games genuinely deserve a 10/10? I mean you people act as if a 10 should never be given. Ever. To any game.

My point is, how can a biased (anti-Sony, let's call it) gaming review site can award not once, not twice, but three times a Playstation exclusive game 10/10? Unless, the bias is just a matter of a wrong perception all along, which is what I wanted to demonstrate.

At the end of the day you literally just can't stop people's bias so I just take all reviews with a grain of salt and just play it myself to really find out.  I dont trust alot of other sites but that Gamestop really took the cake when I noticed their reviews.

But more importantly...i was reading your comment and was like wtf is your avatar Zell?!? That drawing looks awesome! Did you draw that??
