Forums - PC Discussion - Digital Homicide sues 100 Steam users for 18 million - Valve pulls all their games from the store

They`re suing 100 anonymous Steam users? So... they don`t even know there names? How the fuck did they argue that with the judge? `Yeah, I want to sue some anonymous people on the internet for saying mean things please`. More importantly, how come there are judges that are incompetent enough to go along with that crap and still have a job?

"TechRaptor reports that Judge Eileen Willett, who is currently assigned to the case, granted Romine with a subpoena for "early discovery," which obliges Valve to identify and reveal the anonymous Steam users."

Let's see how that goes.

"Game developers"
If we're going to call them game devs we may as well start calling me one too

Everyone can cook, not everyone is a chef.

Like ND devs would be a Michelin star chef (food is a work of art, a experiance to be enjoyed).

While Digital Homicide dev's would be that random joe on a street corner selling you a hot dog.

They both prepair food, but its just not the same.

I fully agree, I dont even know if we should be calling these guys game developers.

Short version is:

Two years ago DH released a game called "The Slaughtering Grounds" on Steam. Jim Sterling who usually picks up shitty games on Steam made a video about it. He wasn't more or less vicious than against any other shitty game on Steam but the Developer took it to heart and made a reaction video. Jim then made a reaction video to that reaction video and the rivalry was perfect.

After that every new (and shitty) game of DH which even released games under different companies was found by the steam community and subsequently slammed by them and Jim. Then there was a nice back and forth between Jim and the developers. After some time Jim was sued by them for slander over 15 million dollars. That happened months ago and Jim did not openly talk about it.

And now this happens.

What we basically have here is a developer throwing a tantrum for two years now and finally making their legal threats real. it's an awesome story and great entertainment for everyone involved.

And here is the initial response.

They are also seeking legal action to sue Valve

Soo damn funny

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

So do they have any chance of winning? And did they beat Jim sterling in that case?

My god you'd be afraid to walk past their office in case they sue you for spying on them. Money hungry animals

My disdain goes to all the involved parties.

To the so called developers. The steam community buying and thus supporting. And Valve letting this steam-ing pile of crap happen.

Hunting Season is done...
