Hey guys, sorry I've been less active around VGC lately.  The awful mobile ads have sort of made it a site I don't hang on as much as I'd like anymore when I'm on my phone, and I've been busy with work, school, and I'm running a community crafted to help small YouTube creators hone their craft now, so forum stuff has admittedly sort of fallen off my priorities list a bit.

Anyway, I was in a big Ratchet mood lately, so I felt the need to review the second and arguably most important game in the Ratchet series.  Because so many things changed from the first game, this is a longer review, so hunker down if you decide to watch!  As always, let me know what you think about the video, and I'm always willing to discuss the Ratchet series in any shape or form.  I actually learned a couple awesome facts while doing more research about Going Commando, such as the fact that Ratchet 1 was the first American game to be bundled with a game console in Japan, and according to at least one source was the first game to break Japan's Top 100 charts (where it stayed for five years!).  Really puts the series' longevity in perspective.

Going Commando is my second favorite after A Crack in Time. I wonder if the next Ratchet game will be a remake of Going Commando or a whole new direction. I'm ok with either myself but how many remakes until a new game?

I have still yet to play, i watched up until you mentioned there's a spoiler ahead and also liked the video.

I don't think there will be any plan to reboot the franchise.  Insomniac really just wanted to do the first game justice in the style that GC and onward used!  I'm expecting something like Future, where there was no definitive connection to the previous games at first outside of cameos.  That way things tie back into ItN and the Future series without the PS4 game messing much up canonically.  

I only discuss the plot for about four minutes during the review, after the 7:11 mark it's all back to non-spoiler discussion, if you're interested!  Either way, thank you!  Definitely recommend playing it whenever you get the chance, a phenomenal series once you get into it.

It's called locked and loaded in Europe, Going commando sounds like ratchet forgot to wear his boxer shorts.

Well that's the point lol

I don't know why they keep censoring the name of the games in Europe but most Ratchet games have a title with sexual innuendos in NA.

Well it wasn't censorship as much as localization - Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal didn't translate to seven languages well and keep the innuendo. Same reason the Future saga isn't called Future in Europe! Not sure why Deadlocked changed, but I'm assuming Gladiator was just an easier translation too.
