Hello GT Community — I am sharing some news today that we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Gran Turismo Sport to 2017. GT Sport is Polyphony’s foremost competitive gaming title, with high expectations from both the fans and from within our team.

From the start this title has been one of our most ambitious undertakings by using the latest technologies, such as physics-based rendering and sound simulations, and Scapes photo mode. In combining these features with a new Sport mode, we are offering a competitive gaming experience to truly reinvent what it means to be a racing game. We’ve been excited and humbled by the response each time that we’ve shared new gameplay with everyone.

However, as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way. While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date.

GT Sport will continue to be shown at several gaming events around the world. I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience first-hand the yet-to-be revealed cutting edge experiences that will be achieved by GT Sport.

lol another delay? seriously sony?

Yeah, it did feel as though they were rushing it out to meet the launch window of PSVR, the first footage they revealed looked really bad graphically but it's made solid improvements since then. So yeah glad they're giving it more time.

Another game delay by Sony. What a disappointment.

Edit: But seriously. What is going on with Polyphony Digital? Yamauchi is taking advantage of that long leash of his. If he didn't make a game series that is as enjoyable for me as GT I'd be boykotting his ass since 2007. At this rate we won't even have 1 mainline GT game per generation.

And yet another year with COD as the leading hardware seller. At least The Last Guardian will be a good game that isn't further delayed.... right?

Another barren Q4 coming up for Sony.

Sony really needs to kick Polyphony under the butt, the time they need to develop a racing game is absolutely ridiculous, 3 years should be plenty.

This is a big hit, this seems like the perfect VR game for sony, damn, well luckely we have forza horizon 3 on pc/xbox and  Assetto Corsa released on consoles recently which I can recommend as a sim-racer, it was great on pc

Maybe the game wasn't that great compared to Driveclub VR (graphically and gameplay, sound, well everything) so they decided to delay in order to avoid the direct comparison and to improve things?

just polyphony? Sony's entire first party has become a joke when it comes to meeting deadlines. what was the last AAA game they released that didnt get delayed? probably Killzone Shadow Fall.
