Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft will pay you to use Edge browser

Does Edge have an ad block add on? They are doing this to gather browsing history for targeted ads but if one uses ad block then that would defeat most of the purpose.

People use Edge? cant be more than 5% :p

Seems like everyone I know uses chrome, or firefox.

Damn... not available in my region. Though most likely wouldn't be rewarded enough to be worth changing from chrome to edge... never mind bing.

I've been begging MS to make EDGE cross-platform so that people use it on their smartphones and PCs, have their bookmarks and passwords on every device they use, just like they do when they use Chrome. But nope, they expect me to use EDGE on PC and something else on my smartphone.

Instead of paying people to use products, make them more useful, make them good, and we'll come.

Well if it's only available in the US then I'll stick to Chrome and Google. But even if it did come to my region, I'm not sure I want to Bing...

I would do it if it offered voucher for PSN because the other options if not direct money wouldn't be usable for me in Brazil =p

Already use Bing, so I might switch to Edge for my web browser. I already make the equivalent of $8 a month by using Bing, I think I'll be making like $12 a month by using Edge as well in the new system. That's enough for 12 months of Xbox Live and a free $60 XB1 game each year, with some left over for cheaper digital games.

Been using Bing for years now, not sure I want to put Edge as my default browser though :-|

When I use Bing there are always a couple (four?) completely irritating and useless ads as the first search results. Is there a way to disable these ads?

...or do you get used to look passed these to the real search results that comes under?

EDIT:

On Google yoe can limit your search easily by clicking on:  All - Images - Videos - News - Maps - Books

Is there something similar possible in Bing?

EDIT 2:

When searching for a location Google gives you a map link (google maps).

Can I get the same functionality with Bing?

I sometimes use bing for the rewards, but M$ couldn't pay me enough to use their POS edge browser.

1. Not in my experience. I get far less ads on Bing than I do on Google.

2. Choices are Web, Images, Videos, News, and Maps.

3. Yes, you get a Bing maps link when searching for a location.

Thanks. I guess it needs some time to get used to, as every new thing.

I never realy took the time to sit down a explore Bing. Whenever I used Bing it just felt awkward.

They should expand this to other markets. Anyway I recently started using Bing Rewards even though it isn't much but hey you are rewarded. Google and Yahoo should do the same thing.
