You forgot to put "my own company/business" option on the poll. T.T

Let's say that counts as career since you basically made it to the top and your own company is probably the least stable job you could choose^^

Now it makes totally sense, having nice colleagues, because you know, we, IT guys are very alike and most of our interests are about the same "nerdy" things and try to have fun/good time when we are in our work places aaand most important, we have a good sense of humor.
Welcome back to the IT work force, I hope you dont have to leave for something like before, and good luck in your new job.

Glad to hear it. =)

I'm missing Freelancer on your poll though. I can't imagine to ever work as an employee again. =P

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Congratulations.

Really happy for you, man. I remember your story and I'm glad you not only got a job, but an even better one than the last one. Congrats.

Wish I had been so lucky. I recently applied for a job as a University researcher and got rejected. The problem is that I'm one of the few experts worldwide on that particular topic thanks to my PhD. Unfortunately, when I contacted the project organizer (before submitting my application), he told me that "no previous experience on x is necessary", which makes me think they went with someone they already had in mind and I never stood a chance.

Gotta love the life in academia.... At least I have my current job at a uni in Cyprus for a few more months, which is something.

Edit: As for the poll question, at this point of my life, definitely career.

Congrats!
But maybe with your surplus income you could do something better with it? Like save up for a new car, invest it, or go on a trip to a new country.

All of those sound like a waste to me.

I will however definitely save up some of it to make a long trip to Japan some day.
