The game is out of 360 and ps3 along with an upgrade port on pc.  I get the ps3 version for $5 on a sale on psn a few months back.

Just completed it the other day.  90% overall completed. I liked it so much I found all the collectibles.

Basically this is a ps3 gen standard assassins creed but it's like a sequel to black flag set in North America.  Excellent setting,  really fun pirate game and a story that isn't too dragged out and was enjoyable.

I'd give it an 8.5/10.

Ubisoft were crazy not to release the pc port on ps4 and x1 this summer considering there's no Assassin’s Creed releasing in 2016.

So anyone with a ps3/pc/360 get this game cheap next time it's on sale. If you're a fan of assassins creed games or pirate games you'll love this.

It really is, I liked it more than Unity actually

Maybe I should give the series another try. I stopped after 2, but the naval battles in IV look pretty cool. And I think the lead designer on the original Killzone directed Rogue.

Oh man you have to play black flag and then rogue if you liked it.

I was proper burnt out after Assassin’s Creed 3. Like I struggled to complete it so badly.  But black flag was just so fresh.  For some reason we don't get a lot of AAA pirate games in this industry and black flag is certainly one of them.  I think that's why I loved it so much.

I loved it as a pirate game firstly,  and secondly as an assassins creed game.  They should be dirt cheap now so I definitely recommend it.

AC4 and Rogue are very much the same in regard to gameplay. Therefore both are awesome.

Unity is better than it gets credit for, but Rogue is definitely better.

I want to say I got it for PS+ or GWG, although I'm not sure. Here's my question: as someone who didn't enjoy II, would I enjoy the games after it? Part of the reason I gave up was that II is heralded as the best of the series and I didn't really like it - so I figured I wouldn't like the rest either.

Definitely is. As if they took all the good parts of AC4 and the very few good parts of AC3 and made it into a great game. It's kinda sad that this spinoff is overshadowing every main game since 3.

edit: it's weird that i call it a spinoff when it is the exact link between 4 and Unity.

I'm in the same boat - liked AC1 a lot, felt dissapointed with 2nd, never bothered with any other, but pirate theme of AC4 is tempting (not expecting Sea Dogs 1/2, but then again there is not a lot of choices out there when it comes to pirate games).

I'd say you will.  I actually liked AC1 and 2 but every entry after that I started to like slightly less and less until I got to AC3.  Which took great effort to even finish.  Then I got black flag on ps4 which frankly was a breath of fresh air with it's Caribbean exploration.

I think whether or not you'd enjoy a pirate game is a better question than an Assassin’s Creed game because it's basically the best pirate game on the market.  Well I guess uncharted 4 is a pirate game but I mean one where you play as pirates in their time.

Hey! It's so reassuring to find someone who feels the same way :)
