Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Declaration of peace, love, and happiness between the Wii and the Xbox360

Trolls go hide under a bridge or something.

EDIT: Needs a declaration from a PS3 fanboy for the same. I can't represent two camps so someone has to do it.

The Wii is probably the best thing since the SNES for gamers everywhere. It's the number 1 console for this Generation. It has a valuable place in the market and has earned it's number 1 spot. I like the inclusive ethos of the Wii console that has meant that I could finally play games with people like my own MOM! So while it's impossible to make everyone 100% happy, 100% of the time... The Wii has certainly proved able to provide an excellent gaming experience to the majority of people who call themselves gamers. Commendable!

I don't like it when people attempt to diminish the value of any console. That, and the inclusive nature of the Wii has led me to conclude that Xbox360 gamers and Wii gamers should really just BE FRIENDS!!! Both systems offer unique perspectives, one a more traditional down to earth approach, through gameplay and innovation and the other an approach that attempts to immerse the gamer in a more visually stimulating world.

I really want to simply, end all differences that people from either camp have with each other and accept that each offers a genuine and valid gaming experience, that together both camps include the largest demographic spread of gamers ever in the history of computer games. If people still want to be haters thats fine, but I think we can all choose not to be drawn down to their level.

So are you guys digging this?

Can you change that bolded part to.

"Now can you dig that...... SUCKA!"

Around the Network

Hmm, I can't think of a modly way to say this, but...

Dumb.

None of the systems got it 100% right this generation, each have their pluses and minuses. Civil discussions about the pros and cons of each are welcome and fun. It's when they collapse into nonsense that I lose interest and wander to more intelligent pastures.

To say that the Wii is the best thing since sliced bread is giving Nintendo a bit too much credit. Yes, Nintendo's strategy of using motions controls has caught the general market by storm. But there are still some serious points of pain including a half baked online strategy and the fact that we've gotten a boat load of total crap games brought to the system in such a short period of time. Oh, and the fact that you can't easily get a console in the US over a year after launch is pathetic. Still an amazing turnaround. Just not the second coming...

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

Um you act like it's a real war. LoL um It matters who the person is to like all consoles. I like all consoles preferring the wii&pc the most.

This is a war, and it seems that the wii/360 are creating an alliance. Well, lets hope the wii/360 can defend itself from a cell processor capable of launching nuclear missles, (thats what I heard, at least.)

Ken said it best: "It is Microsoft(and now the wii) and I will Kill them"

Just Kidding.

Was there a war between 360 owners and Wii owners? Perhaps a light hearted jab here or there. However the reality really is they are radically different markets, and aren't very relevant to one another. Those who own a 360 are really hardcore gamers at heart. While those who exclusively play on the Wii are more casual at heart.

Honestly I cannot say whether the inclusive nature of the Wii is a positive or a negative thing. The positive would be if these casual gamers evolve, or even tire and leave. The negative would be if they end up driving down game complexity hurting the hardcore experience. Similar to a modern era Atari collapse. We really will not know for some time.

Now for the PS3 yes I think there are hard feelings, because the Wii really is hurting their console. Their console really needs Japan to be healthy, and Nintendo is really muscling Sony out of Japan. Eventually the Wii accumulation in Japan will take a heavy toll on Sony. Further more Nintendo stole the Sony crown which seems to be an unforgivable crime.

What I am saying is Wii and 360 owners are basically indifferent to one another. While the PS3 is antagonistic to both. To make feelings even worse the PS3 fans feel a little trodden on, and its doubtful that any of them are actually used to that feeling. They have never known a time when they were not backing the winning horse.

I would be sincerely shocked if the real alpha male Sony fans take you up on your offer. Unless they try to phrase it as some mutual enemy argument against the 360.
