They'll likely hire actual writers.

God, I hope they hire actual writers.

As long as it's not Shigeru.

But yeah, as Onion said, for a movie with no gameplay, they'll know the importance of storytelling. Hopefully that means they'll hire someone with experience in this field. If they do it in house, then perhaps they'll look towards Monolith. But I think it's better to get someone who has written for an actual movie before.

Shigeru did help make the Pikmin shorts. Plus Nintendo wants to have oversight on the direction of their IPs so they'll have to be smart on who can help provide that direction while creating a good story and product.

With all due respect to those guys, they'd write a terrible movie plot. Video game writing standards are far lower on average than film writing standards. A XC-like story wouldn't fly on a movie. They need actual film writers who understand how to write film.

How would the team at Monolith Soft not be able to write the story of a movie?

Not to crush souls here, but MS has extremely mediocre writers. They stand out in nothing but video games where the writing on average is bad.

I disagree.

I hope Nintendo is smart enough not to, or their movie business will end before it begins.

I hope they agree with me, I'd love to get some Xenoblade action on the big screen.

I really liked the Pikmin shorts, but I'm not sure what properties of theirs would really make good movies... Seriously, just about every character is a mute lol

I'd be fine with a Xenoblade movie that isn't written by the Xenoblade guys, because that actually would have a chance a doing well and not getting slammed by critics who are used to higher calibur writing. Xenoblade is already at a disadvantage by being a franchise that nobody cares about. Hate to see that wasted by making a script only fans could like.

What I really want to see is a Fire Emblem Game of Thrones-like animated series in that cel-chaded art style.

Even though I believe all of their movies should have the same art style to create a cinematic universe.

Given that we are talking about Nintendo, is a safe bet they are looking into Japanese studios first. I think the posibility of an anime style Xenoblade movie is pretty good.

I want to see the Xenoblade X universe expand with the Xenoblade team in movie form if they don't plan to continue the game form.
