To me, it´s just nonsense that some Brazilians fell ofended by that. "Brasil" in English in "Brazil", as much as "United States" in Portuguese is "Estados Unidos"

I wonder if  Germans would feel ofended if we call their country "Alemanha", or the French if we call their contry "França", or even Americans, with "Estados Unidos"

But, on a note, we should say those names according to the language we´re speaking, or the location we are.

Ask England what happened to their manifest destiny. Its funny because empires fall and rise and fall and rise constantly and everyone but the people of these empires don't see it coming. I am in no way jealous of a piece of land as thats what a country is and I am in no way jealous or envious of CIA or the USA government who has had idiots as leaders sometimes like bush and might have one in trump. As a matter of fact the private sector has made america what it is not the military you are so proud of whose veterans you leave homeless and throw aside. Why would I be jealous of a state that sponsors terrorism and causes wars and is a war profiteer who spreads lies about my Asian neighbors in the middle east. The only thing I might be jealous of is that on that piece of land there are parts of it which house some of the top universities of the world which are private. So you new worlders can take your patriotism and swallow it whole and then barf it out or excrete it I don't care just don't spew that dirty misguided patriotism on my relatively open minded suite.
