Forums - General Discussion - Guess who's back

It's been quite a while since I last visited this site.  Those of you who have been here a couple of years or more may remember me.  I wasn't on the level of guys like RolStoppable but I was fairly well known until I disappeared without notice for no real reason.  My only regret is that I did so when we were ramping up to do a game of VGChartz Mafia.  In fact, I believe I hadn't missed a game between Mafia 5 and Mafia 60.  So much for that streak.

Anyway, I was inspired to come back because I wanted to make a political thread.  Trump is making waves here in the US and the spectacle is being watched around the world.  In my view the guy is pretty terrible, but for all his awful positions, proposals, and claims, there have definitely been a few things I think he's been wrongly criticized for.

For one, the so-called Nazi salute.  Come on, guys.  It's not like the Nazis were doing it first.  America had its very own Bellamy salute, which was used up until World War II when the Nazis ruined salutes and swastikas for everybody.  It's been 70 years, guys.  I'm not saying we should forget history, but I also don't think we need to keep a ban on all forms of straight-armed salute.  I would object (politically, not legally) to such a salute being performed by people who are actually likely to be calling back to the Nazis by its use:  neo-Nazi, white power, etc.  In that case the criticism would be founded, but despite Trump being coy with the KKK's endorsement I don't think anyone seriously thinks he's a secret neo-Nazi, nor even trying to pander to neo-Nazis by way of this salute.  So let it go.

But anyway!  That's not even what I wanted to make a thread about.  That's the simple, easy one.  Follow the link for the REALLY interesting thing I want to defend Trump for.

If you would rather stay in this thread, to curse me for abandoning your Mafia game or to ask what VGChartz was like in the long-gone yesteryear of 2014, welcome!  Who else still looks at people's forum signatures?

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
