Hmm I am on my phone now, and I've gone to vgc on both my chrome and Firefox browsers and there's been no redirection. Perhaps it's a supporters perk.

Really bad on mobile, stopped bothering using this sit eon my phone due to redirects to other sites including pornographic ones.
dont forget that the ads are representation of your taste 
thats how Google Adsense works. For some reason i only get silver coin ads tough
