How does it perform? I need more efficiency at work and I'm thinking of buying a similar PC next month and I wonder if I'll be able to play some games on it as well. This is what I plan to buy:

CPU: i3 6100
RAM: 8 GB DDR4 3200 Mhz
GPU: Saphire Radeon R9 380 Nitro (maybe 380X)
ASRock Z170 montherboard
SSD: Samsung 250 GB
HDD: 1TG 7200
PSU: BeQuiet 530W
Case: SilentiumPC Gladius M45W Pure Black
A 21:9 LG monitor

I want it to be cheap, help me with work (thus the 21:9 monitor), but also be able to play Starcraft 2 and some other games, obviously I don't need ultra on all settings

Well, I haven't played any super demanding games on it like Witcher 3, but almost everything I've tried it has handled with at least 900p/30fps/ultra settings or 1080p/30fps/high settings. I think the most demanding thing I've played so far was the demo for Dying Light, it ran it at 900p/high settings/30+ FPS.  Quite a few older and indie games it has managed at 1080p/60fps/ultra settings. Your planned build is a bit better than mine, so it should handle stuff like Starcraft 2 just fine. Even the most demanding games it should be able to handle at medium-high settings I'd guess.

Awesome, that's exactly what I need from this PC Especially SC2, though I think that a Skylake i3 would run it even on its iGPU alone

I think the faster CPU, RAM and GPU (w/ 4GB RAM) will only translate into a handful of fps more than in your build, but I hope it'll be enough to run Wither 3, even on medium.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

There are steps several between 1080p and 4K.

Right now you can get 3440x1440, 144Hz and IPS or VA monitors from several brands (like Acer).

I'm also thinking about upgrading one of my monitors this or next year. I'll probably upgrade to 2560 x 1440 resolution instead of 4K, since I don't want to "waste" all the performance gain of my next GPU for resolution.

G-Sync or FreeSync are mandatory for my next monitor (depends if I go the Pascal or Polaris road). If I stay with Nvidia (otherwise I'll lose the ability of playing some games in stereoscopic 3D), it will be probably one of these two monitors (or a display with similar specs):

both 2560 x 1440 resolution, G-Sync with 30 - 144 Hz refresh rate range, 3D Vision compatible

And both are also TN, although given that you have first hand experience of a VA and TN monitors side to side, you know what you'll get.

If you want to see more options, here's a site with a list of all the monitors with frequencies going from 120Hz up to 200Hz: www.144hzmonitors.com

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Due for a dusting anyways....

I might post some pictures later, but it's not really worth it, since I usually go for rather simple-non-flashy builds. So there isn't really anything to see.

Oh... and I know my GPU is a bit weak, but I'm waiting for Polaris to upgrade it.

Got my "office" set up here's some more pics!!

For a site that's so heavily biased towards console gaming, a lot of you have very powerful rigs.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Recently sold my Haswell-E rig.

My daily driver is back to my trusty old 3930K @ 4.8ghz.
Single crappy 27" monitor.
64Gb DDR3 2400mhz Ram.
Sabertooth X79.
Radeon 5450.

Been planning the new rig, just haven't made my mind up on what colour the components are going to be and planned for the watercooling loop yet, won't be done untill after AMD's Polaris and Intel's Broadwell-E (Giving me time to get some custom stuff made up for the loop and case), then it will be time to flog my 3930K rig off. Been a beast of a rig, still out-benches allot of stock Haswell-E machines (Even my old one), despite it's "advanced age". haha

Most of my gaming is done at a peasantry 720P to 1080P on the Xbox right now, stretched over 65". It's disgusting.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

Decided to say Screw Broadwell E, Bought myself a rampage v Extremem and a 5960x. Currently have it overclocked to 4.4 Ghz ( I could get 4,5 on it but requires about 1.3 volts and it gets a bit warm for my taste. Dropped in 32 GB corsair Platinum 3200 MHz ram and got myself a 3rd Fury X and an Intel 750 SSD.

All i gotta say is DAMN this thing is fast. Makes my old 3930k (which was no slouch either) and my 850 Pro feel slow in compatison.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

My PC is a crappy G3258 that max's out around 4.2ghz, and a 750ti with a tiny OC....

"Show Me Your POWAH!"

... yes.. my powah.. erhm.... *cries*

Honestly though its fast enough to play most things just at lower settings.
