1) Tidbit of info on Zelda U
2) Starfox Zero update
3) More info on Pokken tournament
4) New Pokemon main game (Z or Gen 7)

When do you think the next nintendo direct will be?

There are enough 1st party games Nintendo could bring from Japan and 3rd parties to make a decent Direct. Focus more on SMTxFE, Zelda TP, promote some indies, some VC releases, talk about all the JRPGs coming (Bravely Second, Youkai Watch for Europe, Dragon Quest VII and VIII) and end with a teaser of Zelda U. It's not that hard.

Pokken and Star Fox must be there.
Also, Pokemon Z, and maybe paper mario wii u

Going by history, when their last direct is nov, it comes in jan, if the last direct is dec, it comes in feb. I'm expecting it to be anytime now, but understand that the death of Iwata might have made normal directs nearly impossible to do. (The dec direct only needed sakurai for Smash info.) 

That said in approximately 2 months over have of the Wii U games for this year should be released (with only SMT X FE and Zelda U left to release). Knkwing that, it would be extremely valuable in getting info out on games we know little about.

Not that I entirely disagree with you, but in two months most games for Wii U this year will be released. I guess if you believe the NX home console is coming out this year, then getting the info out to the public would be VERY crucial at this point, but Nintendo still seems very adamant not to say anything about the console. 

That said, if they were to need to announce a console for this year, a direct this month would be pretty much dire to a little late.

Oh, I don't think it will actually happen.  It's more of a desire than a prediction.

I would get into the issue of announcing a console for this year, but we already have more than enough NX 2016 vs 2017 topics :p

My hopes for Mario Tennis Ultra Trash and Amiigo Festival sequels. I don't mind crossover between both franchises.
